So, you just got engaged and Ireland is on the short list for the Honeymoon? First, let me congratulate you on your engagement. Cherish this time with family and friends and celebrate the love that brought you both together in the first place.

Once your wedding plans are set, it is time to plan your first vacation together as a married couple.

This is a special trip that will include an investment of both your time and money. This is not something you want to DIY or throw together at the last minute. No matter how you choose to explore Ireland invest in yourselves and work with someone that can help you navigate the information overload you find online and design a honeymoon as unique as the two of you.

Ireland offers fun and interesting cities to visit with lots of museums, pubs and delicious restaurants that include some Michelin starred cuisine to visit if delicious food is an important part of your honeymoon experience.

If you prefer small towns and the countryside where you can mingle with the locals and enjoy their food and music, there is no shortage of options.

There are numerous great shops, historical sites and iconic destinations to explore. If you like spending time outdoors you will not be disappointed with the many places to visit and see in Ireland that will provide you with breathtaking scenery and the opportunities to bike, hike, boat, fish or even take a horse drawn carriage ride. Let’s not forget about the dramatic cliffs, beautiful gardens and breathtaking castles that scatter this stunning destination.

The first place I start with Honeymoon couples is to send them a questionnaire.

This helps me get to know them and what their specific interests and hobbies are. This is a very important part of the planning process and one that should not be skipped. While many of the packaged vacations and tours of Ireland will work just fine, I believe a Honeymoon should be tailored to each unique couple. A few of the important questions I ask when planning is:  How active do you wish to be on your Honeymoon? What is on your list of things to see and do while in Ireland? Tell me about your dream honeymoon and the experiences that are important to you? What was your best vacation ever and why? What was your worst vacation and why? These are just a few of the questions that are important to consider when planning your honeymoon.

Ireland is filled with romance, adventure, breathtaking natural beauty and rich history. It is such a beautiful and fun destination and you are sure to come home with stories and memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
